Euro 2012 qualifier

Maximum points for Spain in their qualifying group after a 3-1 win over Scotland in their last game. The Scots had to win to qualify for the play-off spots, but in six minutes Spain was ahead, David Silva after finishing debutant Jordi Alba crossed from the left. Fletcher and Morrison went close to the answer, but later in the first half Villa and Cazorla could have added to the head before Silva scored again after collecting a pass back to Pedro. Less than ten minutes after the restart Villa added a third after him to Silva, his 50th for his country, and even replace Goodwill got back from the penalty spot after Valdes contaminated MacKiel-Smith in the region, Llorente, Cazorla and Pedro had all chances to beat McGregor again before the final whistle.
